Landing Light issue

The picture shows my problem:



The cone of the landing light doesn't just illuminate the runway, it's pure white. I can't take off or land with the landing lights on.

What am I doing wrong?

hm, if remembering correctly, we had that problem already discussed in the old forum a long time ago. Not sure, but you probabely can't do much about it, it could be a problem with FS9 port-over models.  But I'll do some investigation and perhaps I can find the old forum post.

no, you didn't miss an update, there is no new MDL.

I did some fooling around with the "spotlight.bmp" mentioned in the old topic. At first, I thought it is an improvment, making the signs and arrows on the runway a bit better visible, but I cannot see a difference when it is real dark. Guess, I have to do more experimenting...
