SF8 Sabre - FS9 Support / Cannot load the F86
« on: November 29, 2012, 06:09:47 PM »

I have re-installed the Sabre (base pack and SP1) after a HD format and followed the instructions in the readme file for it. Once done and when loading this bird, the aircraft is displayed in the "select aircraft" window but after clicking on "accept" to load it, FS9 shows a black screen, menu on top and freezes. As I use FS Repaint I have tried to load the aircraft in it but it reports an error: Can't load the model". I am not new to this, have revised the textures, aircraft.cfg, etc. and everything seems alright. Anyone can help? Thank you in advance.

SF8 Sabre Repaints / Re: White template

Hi Garry,

Thank you very much indeed. Yes, I am still interested and no matter the delay as long as I am still alive ;-)

I paint the commercial aircraft of our VA but I will paint this is just for fun as I love this bird.

Thank you also for the link to your site which now has been permanently sticked to my star bookmarks.

Best regards,

SF8 Sabre Repaints / White template

I have painted several versions of the commercial aircraft of our fleet ( but only one of those has the bare metal template (MAAM Douglas DC3).

I am now trying to paint the F86 in the "Ascua Squadron" (a famous group of spanish combat pilots) following the real livery of the Sabre kept in the Air Museum in Madrid and it is not easy at all.

For camouflage repaints would be very helpful a white template including cutting marks in such a way that full lateral views could be used for correct fitting of paint patters. I've seen announced in the web that those white textures were being created. Do we have any chance to have them in a near future?

Thanks in advance,

Sabre Pilots Briefing Room / Forum password

Good morning,

To register in this forum the system requires a password including upper and lower case letters and digits. All of us have multiple accounts everywhere and personally have tried to reduce to the minimum the amount of passwords simply to remember them.

Could it be possible to modify this password requirements to allow any type? (only letters, only numbers, etc.)

Hi Hansi,

Thank you for the information. The fuel system is quite complicated and will study it in detail.

Yesterday I sent you a PM telling you that I had finished the edition of the word and pdf versions of the instruments manual. I am looking forward the way to send it to you in case you wish to publish it and make its reading and printing much easier.

Hi Hansi,

In all documentation I have read there are two things I do not understand how do they work:

1. The fuel quatity: By reading the manuals I have learned to work with the fuel transfer (or at least I think so). As far as I understand, there is a single gauge to display the fuel quantity of the tank in use, but I only have readings of quantities when the tank used is the Forward Fuselage one (lower cell). This means that I do not know how much fuel remains in the active tank when this is not the "lower cell".

2. The VOR/DME: The radio system is capable of tuning VOR stations (not yet sure if also ILS). I tune any station without problems but I have no information on radial to/from the tuned station and neither on DME.

I will read again the documentation and surely I will find the answers, but any help from experts will be warmly welcome.

Thanks again and best regards,

Hi gents,

My most sincere congratulations and thanks for such a wonderful aircraft. I am a regular commercial aircraft flyer but this is an absolutely new and stimulating experience.

I am also one of those rare people which reads the manuals from the begining to the end, including the credits. Of course I have printed and read the one included in this package and I would like to have something similar for the "Instrument panel reference". In the web version of this there are items which I could not yet find in the panel and also I do not use any kind of virtual cockpit, thus wondering where to find some gauges. I would be very grateful and my flying experience more realistic if I can take benefit of all the aircraft system by means of a pdf manual at the same level of the "pilot's flight operating instructions".

Again my most sincere gratitude for your time and effort.

Best regards,
