Thanks for Your effort, Hansi.

I can live with it until a fix comes out.

Found the post in the old forum

http://sectionf8.com/f8forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=183&p=973&hilit=landinglights#p973

But this was back in 2008.

Did I miss any fix lately?

Thanks Hansi,

I'm just wondering since no one else commented it if I'm the only one with this effect?

Raise your hand guys ... :D

SF8 Sabre - FSX Support / Landing Light issue
« on: May 05, 2010, 06:33:52 PM »
The picture shows my problem:

The cone of the landing light doesn't just illuminate the runway, it's pure white. I can't take off or land with the landing lights on.

What am I doing wrong?

SF8 Sabre - FSX Support / Re: Can't deploy speedbrakes

But if you toggle the joystick switches, you can see the speedbrake switch on the Sabre throttle grip move in the desired direction (IN - HOLD - OUT), or is that not working correctly either?

Yes it does. So if the position is IN and I use the switch "SPOILERS ON" once it moves to the HOLD position and so the spoilers are still in. So I have to use "SPOILERS ON" a second time to shift from HOLD to OUT and vice versa.
It doesn't bother me at all because I only use fully deployed or fully retracted spoilers.

Thanks Hansi for sending me the new gauge and the panel.cfg.

I programmed one rocket switch with Spolilers On and Spoilers Off.

My results:

The action depends on the position of the emergency speedbrake lever in the VC. If this lever is in the forward position the rocket switch acts as a simple toggle with speedbrake in or speedbrake out, no stopping in between.

If the lever is shifted backwards then you can use the rocket switch to stop the speedbrake at any position like it is supposed to be...
but you have to press the switch twice to deploy and twice to retract the speedbrake (from start or end position).

So far my experience at the moment.

SF8 Sabre - FSX Support / Re: Section F8 Fury

At the moment, and probabely for a long time to come, THE word is 'FSX' ...

Struggling hard to get a first native FSX model off the ground ...
cheers,
Jan

I'm wondering what there is left to do for FSX. I'm running the Section F8 SABRE on FSX and it's just great. No cut back on the frame rate even with smoke effect, 2D- and virtual cockpit are fully functional, texture looks great, interior and exterior and so on. So if this is still a port over from FS 2004 I can't see anything left to improve.
For me it's still best aircraft in FSX.

Did You read the preceeding topic about smoke effect?
Just enable it in your config file, it really looks nice and realistic.

Thanks for smoking. Are there any more goodies I don't know about?
Framerates are no problem even with a lot of AI traffic. That shows the F-86 doesn't use a lot of resources.
I can't stress it enough, this aircraft is amazing ... beats all my payware.

Thanks a lot

Thank You so much Hansi for solving this problem in no time. Now this F-86 is just perfect.

Forgive me for getting carried away but the F-86 truly is a masterpiece. All my other payware jets from aerosoft, IRIS, Flylogic and so on have to stand in line. No other jet comes even close to this bumble bee.

Again thank you for your support, you made me happy.

Greetings

Has anyone solved this problem? I can't get the speedbrake to work with keyboard or joystick, I have to use the lever in the virtual cockpit.
If someone could help, please.

Thank You

I just registered to show You/SECTIONF8 all my respect for the F-86 (FSX / Acc)

Beneath some freeware (for example Cattaneo's F-14) I do own a lot of payware airliners and jets like F-5, F-14 and F-16.
No one of these has such a completely mousable Virtual Cockpit nor a 2D Cockpit as the one in the Sabre.
The technical stuff behind all the switches and levers is amazing (if you're not going by the book you'll get hydraulic
failures, gear only comes down to 45% and so on).

The textures outside and in the cockpit are great and the manual that comes with the aircraft is a piece of art.

This SECTIONF8 F-86 SABRE is a jewel that beats all the payware on my shelf.

Congratulaitons and thanks for sharing this master piece.
