Ok, so pretend it's a 6-3 wing...  ;)

The blue arrow marking above was a bit too light and was the wrong shape, changed it...

3 Wing at RCAF Station Zweibruecken was the first Canadian NATO base to adopt uniform squadron marking styles. Around 1954 each of the three RCAF Sabre squadrons based at Zwei were repainted with an arrow-style fuselage flash with individual squadron art superimposed. 413 and 434 used a blue 'arrow' and 427's was red. 434 and 427 also used matching nose markings. Later, with the replacement of the Sabre Mk.2 by the Sabre Mk.5, all four Canadian fighter wings in Europe would use uniform marking styles, with each Wing using different coloured nose and fin stripes, and each squadron's nose art placed near the gun blast pane. Looking forward to a 6-3 hard edged, fenced Sabre from SF8 so I can do some Mk.5s  ;D

The 'arrow' is supposed to come to a point on the top of the fuselage, this is the best I could do given that other than the dorsal vent panel there is no 'top fuselage' section of the texture map. Instead, the fuselage sides are stretched upwards to meet in the middle. I've compromised between getting a pointy tip and keeping the texture as smooth as possible given the stretching of the pixels at the top.

SF8 Sabre - FS9 Support / Canadair/Orenda Sabres?

Hi Jan et al,

Looking at the future plans for the Sabre fleet, would it be possible to add Canadair's later versions to your list? Specifically, the Orenda 10 powered Sabre Mk.5 and Orenda 14 powered Sabre Mk.6, the latter being the most potent Sabre variant in the world! As far as modeling goes the Mk.5 is equivalent to the later F-86F with the 6-3 fenced, hard edged wing and the Mk. 6 was a slatted 6-3 wing. Some very early Mk.6s had the fenced wing but were later refitted to match the rest of the slatted ones.

The F-86E/F we have now is basically equivalent to the Canadair Mk.1-4 series, I'm more interested in seeing a later Canadair version in the hangar in future!  ;D
